Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu is a public technical university located in Jagti, Nagrota, in the Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Established in 2016 as one of the new generation of IITs, it is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. The institute initially operated under the mentorship of IIT Delhi and has since shifted to its sprawling 400-acre permanent campus on National Highway 44.

IIT Jammu offers rigorous academic programs at the undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech, M.Sc, MS by Research), and doctoral (Ph.D.) levels across various engineering and science disciplines. Despite being a young institution, it has demonstrated a commitment to high-quality education, research, and innovation, reflected in its consistent performance in national rankings and its encouraging placement records.

B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mathematics and Computing. The institute also offers a dual degree program in collaboration with IIM Jammu, which includes a B.Tech degree from IIT Jammu followed by an MBA from IIM Jammu.

IIT Jammu’s B.Tech admission requires first qualifying for JEE Main and then JEE Advanced. Candidates must also meet the class 12 eligibility criteria, including a minimum aggregate of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD). Final admission is based on rank in the JEE Advanced exam through the JoSAA counseling process.
