For the MAT CBT 2026 (February/March session), the syllabus is designed to test your general aptitude and management readiness.

Below are the short, point-wise core topics for each of the five sections:

1. Mathematical Skills (Quantitative Aptitude)

  • Arithmetic: Percentages, Profit & Loss, Interest (Simple/Compound), Time & Work, Averages, and Ratios.
  • Number System: HCF/LCM, Divisibility Rules, and Unitary Method.
  • Algebra: Linear and Quadratic Equations, and Inequalities.
  • Geometry & Mensuration: Triangles, Circles, Area, and Volume.
  • Modern Math: Probability, Permutations & Combinations, and Sequences.

2. Language Comprehension

  • Reading: 3–5 short passages with direct and inference-based questions.
  • Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, and One-word Substitution.
  • Grammar: Sentence Correction, Parts of Speech, and Idioms.
  • Verbal Ability: Para Jumbles and Fill in the Blanks.

3. Intelligence & Critical Reasoning

  • Analytical Logic: Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, and Direction Sense.
  • Puzzles: Seating Arrangements (Linear/Matrix) and Numeric Grids.
  • Critical Reasoning: Statements & Conclusions, Cause & Effect, and Syllogisms.
  • Abstract Reasoning: Series completion (Numbers/Letters) and Analogies.

4. Data Analysis & Sufficiency

  • Data Interpretation: Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Line Graphs, and Data Tables.
  • Data Sufficiency: Determining if provided statements are enough to solve a problem.
  • Caselets: Paragraph-based data sets that require logical extraction.
  • Comparison: Quantitative and data-set comparisons.

5. Economic & Business Environment

  • Corporate Awareness: Major Mergers, CEOs, Brand Logos, and Taglines.
  • Economic Trends: GDP, Inflation, RBI Policies (Repo Rate), and Union Budget.
  • Global News: International Organizations (UN, WTO, IMF) and World Records.
  • Static GK: Sports, Awards, and Books & Authors.

The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within a 120-minute window.
