National Institute of Technology Goa

The National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) is a premier public technical institution established in 2010 by an Act of Parliament, declaring it an ‘Institute of National Importance’.

Located in Cuncolim, South Goa, the institute offers undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs, primarily in engineering disciplines like Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Admission to the flagship B.Tech program is based on the JEE Main exam. NIT Goa maintains a focus on academic excellence, research, and holistic development.

 

NIT Goa offers B.Tech programs in five engineering disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

INR 5 lakh for the entire B.Tech course

  • Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels with a capacity to accommodate over a thousand students.
  • A central library with a vast collection of books, journals, and magazines, including access to major digital resources.
  • Neoteric lecture halls, seminar halls, and conference halls are equipped with modern facilities like multimedia projectors, LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Dedicated campus areas, including a tutorial complex, departmental complex, seminar complex, and administrative complex.
  • An on-campus health center or medical room with a resident nurse and visiting doctor, along with emergency ambulance services.

The B.Tech admission process at NIT Goa is based on JEE (Main) scores, followed by JoSAA counseling for Indian students, and the DASA scheme for international students. Candidates must also meet the Class 12 eligibility criteria, which includes a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
