Established in 1955, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) is the premier government medical institution in Karnataka and one of the most prestigious in India. Originally started as a private medical school by the Mysore Education Society, it was handed over to the Government of Mysore (now Karnataka) in 1957.

Affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the institute admits 250 MBBS students annually through NEET-UG, alongside a vast array of postgraduate (MD/MS) and super-specialty (DM/M.Ch) programs.

To get into Bangalore Medical College (BMCRI) for MBBS, you must clear NEET UG, register for counseling via Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for State Quota, and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)  for All India Quota (depending on seat type), then participate in document verification, choice filling, and seat allotment based on your rank, with a high score (around 550-650+) needed for government seats.
