Established in 2019, Diphu Medical College (DMC) is the seventh government medical college in Assam, located in the scenic hills of Karbi Anglong. Originally named the Assam Hills Medical College and Research Institute, it was established to serve the healthcare needs of the tribal and hill districts. It is affiliated with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
