Goa College of Engineering

Goa College of Engineering (GEC) is a public engineering college located on the Farmagudi plateau in Ponda, Goa. Established in 1967, it is the oldest engineering college in the state and is affiliated with Goa University and approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

GEC offers undergraduate (B.E.), postgraduate (M.E.), and Ph.D. programs across various disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer, Information Technology, and Mining Engineering. Known for its extensive campus, GEC shares its complex with institutions like NIT Goa and IIT Goa and maintains a large library and hostel facilities for students.

Separate Boys’ Hostels (multiple buildings) and Girls’ Hostels are available on campus.

The campus has a dedicated Computer Centre and a good IT infrastructure.

A First Aid Room and a Counselling Centre for mental health are available on campus. An Ambulance service is also provided.

The B.Tech admission process at Goa College of Engineering involves applying through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, which conducts the admission process based on the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) or JEE Main. Applicants must have passed the 10+2 exam with specific science subjects and a minimum aggregate score. The process includes an online application, followed by a merit list and counseling sessions conducted by DTE Goa.
