Goa Medical College

Goa Medical College (GMC) established in 1842 is recognized as one of the oldest medical institutions in Asia. Originally founded during Portuguese rule, it was renamed in 1963 and is currently a premier government-run facility affiliated with Goa University. The college is situated on a sprawling 139-acre campus in Bambolim and admits approximately 180 to 200 MBBS students annually via NEET-UG.

As the only government medical college in the state, GMC provides extensive clinical training and serves as the backbone of Goa’s public healthcare system, offering a wide array of postgraduate (MD/MS) and super-specialty (DM/M.Ch) programs.

To get into Goa Medical College (GMC) for MBBS, you need a valid NEET UG score, then register for Goa’s Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) counselling at dte.goa.gov.in for State Quota seats or mcc.nic.in for All India Quota, followed by document verification, choice filling, and seat allotment based on your rank, with separate processes for Goa Domicile (State) and All India seats.
