Established in 1971, the Himachal Pradesh University Business School (HPUBS), formerly known as the Institute of Management Studies, is a premier government-run institution located in the scenic Summer Hill of Shimla. As a department of Himachal Pradesh University (accredited with a NAAC ‘A’ Grade), it has the distinction of being one of the first institutes in India to start an MBA program in the early 1970s. The school is highly regarded in North India for its academic rigor and its unique “subsidized” seat category, which offers high-quality management education at a very low cost.
