Established in 1956, Kurnool Medical College (KMC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious government medical institutions in Andhra Pradesh. It was the third medical college founded in the state to serve the Rayalaseema region. It is affiliated with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (formerly Dr. NTR University) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The college offers a comprehensive range of programs, including an annual intake of 250 MBBS students, alongside various postgraduate (MD/MS) and super-specialty (DM/M.Ch) courses. Its primary teaching facility, the Government General Hospital (GGH), is a massive tertiary care center with over 1,500 beds, providing students with immense clinical exposure and hands-on training across diverse medical fields.
