Established in 1835, Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata (also known as Calcutta Medical College) holds the distinction of being the first institution in Asia to teach Western medicine in English. Affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), it is globally renowned for its rich heritage and academic excellence.

The college admits 250 MBBS students annually and offers a wide array of postgraduate and super-specialty courses.
