Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research

Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR) established in 2023, also known as Kohima Medical College, is a historic milestone as the first-ever medical college in the state of Nagaland. Located at Phriebagie in the capital city of Kohima, the institute is affiliated with Nagaland University and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

It officially commenced its first academic session in September 2023 with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students, fulfilling a long-standing dream of the state after 60 years of statehood. The college is supported by an attached teaching hospital that provides essential clinical training and healthcare services to the region.

5.5 years MBBS, including 4.5 years of academic training, followed by a mandatory 1-year rotating internship.

MBBS admission to Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR) is through the national NEET-UG exam, followed by state/MCC counseling for its 100 seats, requiring NEET qualification, PCB in 10+2, and participation in counseling, with low fees and hostel availability.
