Panjab University (PU) is a prestigious public collegiate State University located in Chandigarh, India, with a rich history dating back to its original establishment in Lahore in 1882. It is one of the oldest universities in India, holding a long-standing tradition of excellence in teaching and research across science, technology, humanities, social sciences, and law. After the partition of India in 1947, the university was re-established in India and eventually settled into its iconic, sprawling 550-acre campus in Chandigarh in 1958.
