The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (SVNIT Surat), is a public technical university established by the Parliament of India in 1961 and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance. The institute is located in Surat, Gujarat, on a 250-acre campus. Formerly known as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering and Technology, it was upgraded to an NIT in 2002.
SVNIT offers a range of academic programs, including undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA), and doctoral (Ph.D.) courses across multiple engineering and science disciplines. Institute was ranked 66th in the Engineering category by the NIRF 2025 ranking.

To get admitted to SVNIT Surat’s B.Tech program, Indian students must first clear the JEE Main and meet the 10+2 eligibility criteria (minimum 75% for general, 65% for SC/ST/PWD). After that, they must register for JoSAA/CSAB counseling and follow the subsequent steps of seat allocation, document verification, and fee payment. For international students, admission is through the DASA or ICCR schemes.
