Shri Krishna AYUSH University (SKAU) in Kurukshetra, Haryana, is the first university in India—and notably the first of its kind globally—to be dedicated exclusively to the AYUSH systems of medicine (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy). Affiliated with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and regulated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), it was upgraded from the historic Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College (est. 1972) to serve as a hub for premier education and research.
The university offers a variety of programs, including BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and postgraduate MD/MS courses across 14 specialties, as well as diplomas in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) and Panchakarma. Operating from a well-equipped campus in Sector 8, it features an attached 100-bed hospital providing extensive clinical training, a 5-acre herbal garden with over 500 medicinal species, and modern research laboratories focused on validating traditional healing practices through contemporary science.
