Zoram Medical College and Hospital

Inaugurated on August 7, 2018, Zoram Medical College (ZMC) is the first and only medical college in the state of Mizoram, located in Falkawn, about 16 km from the capital, Aizawl. It was formerly known as the Mizoram Institute of Medical Education & Research (MIMER) and is affiliated with Mizoram University and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The college admits 100 MBBS students annually and has recently expanded to include postgraduate (MD/MS) programs in several clinical specialties. Its attached teaching facility, the Zoram Medical College Hospital is a tertiary care hub with approx 500 beds, serving as the primary referral center for the entire state and neighboring regions.

MBBS admission to Zoram Medical College (ZMC) is primarily through the NEET-UG exam, followed by counseling via MCC for All India Quota (AIQ) and state counseling (Directorate of Medical Education, Mizoram – DME) for State Quota seats, with 100 seats available (70% State, 15% AIQ, 15% NRI/Management). You must qualify NEET, meet PCB criteria, and then participate in the relevant online counseling.
