The JEE Advanced 2026 is the second and final stage of the Joint Entrance Examination, conducted specifically for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). For the 2026 session, IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute. Only the top 2,50,000 qualifiers of JEE Main 2026 are eligible to sit for this exam. It is widely considered one of the world’s toughest undergraduate entrance tests because it goes beyond rote learning, testing a candidate’s deep analytical ability and their capacity to apply complex concepts from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (spanning the full Class 11 and 12 curriculum) to solve multi-layered problems.

JEE Advanced 2026 syllabus (managed by IIT Roorkee) covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Classes 11 and 12. While it overlaps with JEE Main, it requires a much deeper analytical understanding and includes “Advanced-only” topics.
Physics: Focus is on Mechanics (10% weightage) and Modern Physics (12%). You must also master experimental skills like using Vernier Callipers.
Chemistry: Organic Mechanisms and Chemical Bonding (10%) are critical. Inorganic chemistry is best prepared directly from NCERT but requires deeper logic for “salt analysis” questions.
Mathematics: Calculus (20%) and Probability (14%) dominate the paper. Expect questions that combine multiple topics (e.g., using Calculus to solve a Coordinate Geometry problem).
The exam consists of two mandatory papers held on the same day.
